ISI and Terran Orbital Will Launch the RUNNER-1 EO Satellite 2023

Terran Orbital Corporation has made the announcement that the RUNNER-1 satellite is almost ready for its final launch preparations. The launch of the satellite from SLC-4E at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, United States, on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket as part of the Transporter-8 rideshare mission.

RUNNER-1 is a multi-purpose remote sensing satellite that was created in collaboration between Terran Orbital and ImageSat International Ltd (ISI). RUNNER-1 is capable of high-resolution multi-spectral imagery with sub-meter resolution and color video.

As a consequence of this, the satellite will most likely become part of the constellation of satellites operated by ISI. In addition to this, in accordance with the terms of the contract that it has with ISI to develop the national space program of Chile, it will provide its services to the Chilean government.

Terran Orbital and ISI Launch RUNNER-1 EO Satellite

In addition to this, the RUNNER-1 satellite will assist the Chilean government in the implementation of its national space development agenda. This is due to the fact that the satellite, which is known locally as FASat Delta, is an essential element of the goal for Chile’s national space program.

Marc Bell, Co-Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of Terran Orbital, expressed his excitement about the impending launch of Runner-1 by saying, “Terran Orbital is ecstatic to announce the upcoming launch.”

The capabilities of RUNNER-1’s swift response will make a difference in the world. It has been an incredible pleasure to collaborate on the development of this game-changing satellite with the ISI and the Chilean Space program. We are excited about the prospect of continuing our collaboration with ISI and the Chilean Space Program in the years to come.

The sophisticated avionics platform developed by Terran Orbital and an innovative electro-optical mission system developed by ISI served as sources of creativity for the design of the RUNNER-1 satellite.

The RUNNER-1 system is equipped with a ground control system as well as powerful artificial intelligence capabilities, making it capable of efficient information collecting and processing. In addition to this, it offers a prompt reaction for a variety of scenarios, such as the monitoring of infrastructure, the occurrence of security incidents, the alteration of the environment, and more.
